Welcome to your Academic Coach course
We’re excited to have you on board!
Our courses are run on Microsoft Teams.
By now we will have added your email address to Teams and you may have had an email notifying you of this.
You can access Teams via the link on that email and your course Team should appear on your Teams home page. However, depending on your email provider, there may be some steps you need to carry out before you can access Teams.
To get started you may need to register the email address that you provided us with when you signed up, with Microsoft.
Once you have done this you will be able to access Teams. You can log in by clicking the Teams icon below. Your course Team will automatically appear when you sign in.
Please note that you have to log in using the email address provided at sign up.

Top Tech Tips
Download
- Download the Teams app on your computer using chrome as your web browser (Safari does not work).
- Download Teams to your phone and computer – you can use your phone as a second screen to see the lesson while you are working on documents on your computer.
Second Screen Backup
- With Teams on your phone you can pick up class announcements and if your tech fails on your computer you can still access the video lesson. It’s a good back up plan!
WIFI
- You will need good WIFI so sit as close to your router as possible.
- If possible, turn off any other appliances that use the WIFI in your house during the lesson e.g smart TV, streaming devices, as this may reduce the quality of your call.
Classroom Rules & Expectations
We’re really looking forward to working with you to help you improve your confidence and to reach your potential.
Please don’t be nervous and remember no question is too silly, we want our lessons to be as fun and as useful as possible!
Log in early
To get the most out of your lesson we need you to be on time. Log on 5-10 minutes before your lesson so that if you do have technical issues, we can help.
Lights, camera, action!
Your web camera must be on. This is a non-negotiable. To protect your privacy you can use a virtual background or blur your background. We need to see that you are engaged or struggling!
Attitude is everything
Sadly we can’t sit the exams for you but we can give you all the tools you need to reach your absolute potential! We need you to show up every week ready to work with a motivated attitude. Together we can get you to where you want to be!
